Nigeria has been designated as the “International Focus” for the 2026 edition of the RMB Latitudes Art Fair, organisers announced. A curated launch exhibition showcasing Nigerian artists is scheduled to open at the Yenwa Gallery in Lagos on Thursday, March 26.
Speaking on the selection, the fair’s director stated, “Nigeria’s dynamic art scene, rich cultural heritage, and innovative artists make it an ideal focus for this year’s fair. We aim to highlight the country’s creativity to an international audience and foster global engagement with Nigerian art.”
Representatives from Yenwa Gallery expressed excitement over hosting the exhibition, noting that it will feature works spanning contemporary painting, sculpture, and mixed media. “This launch provides a platform for emerging and established Nigerian artists to gain visibility and connect with collectors, curators, and art enthusiasts worldwide,” the gallery said.
The RMB Latitudes Art Fair is expected to attract participants, investors, and visitors from across Africa and beyond, reinforcing Nigeria’s position as a growing hub for contemporary art. Organisers indicated that accompanying panels, workshops, and cultural events will further promote dialogue between local and international art communities.
The exhibition will remain open throughout the duration of the fair, offering both live viewings and digital showcases to reach a global audience.
