The Federal Ministry of Education has invited qualified Nigerian university graduates to apply for the 2027/2028 Commonwealth Scholarships and Fellowship Plan, with applications closing on October 20, 2026. The scholarship notice was shared by the Lagos State Scholarship Board. The Debt Management Office has announced an offer of two Federal Government of Nigeria bonds valued at N1tn for subscription at N1,000 per unit. The DMO, in a statement on Monday, said the first offer was a new 10-year FGN bond valued at N400bn and due in September 2036. The second was a N600bn reopening of a 15-year FGN bond due in 2038, with a coupon rate of 15.45 per cent per annum. The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has disbursed over N1.08 billion to support the education of 5,381 student nurses and midwives across 21 Federal and state institutions. The increase, though modest, marked another month of improved oil production as the country sustained compliance with its Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries crude oil quota.
