The staffs of the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) have threatened to ground flight operations nationwide from July 1, 2026, over alleged unpaid remittances by the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA). The workers, under the umbrella of the NiMet Unions Joint Action Committee (NJAC), said aviation activities could be paralysed if NAMA fails to comply with a directive by the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, on the remittance of 10 per cent of en-route and over-flying charges due to NiMet.
