The 3rd Nigeria Entertainment and Economic Roundtable is holding today, April 14, at the Nicon Luxury Hotel, bringing together policymakers and key stakeholders in the creative industry.
The event is expected to culminate in the signing of a landmark Memorandum of Understanding with the National Bureau of Statistics aimed at institutionalising data collection and tracking within Nigeria’s creative economy.
Participants at the roundtable include government officials, industry leaders, and representatives from various segments of the entertainment sector. Discussions are focused on addressing longstanding gaps in reliable data, which stakeholders say have hindered effective policy formulation, investment planning, and sector growth.
Organisers note that the agreement with the National Bureau of Statistics is a critical step toward creating a structured framework for capturing the economic contributions of the creative industry, including film, music, fashion, and digital content.
The initiative is also expected to improve transparency, attract investment, and support evidence-based decision-making, positioning the creative sector as a more measurable and strategic component of Nigeria’s broader economic development.
