Owen Odigie Champions Global Black Stories With Osa’s Vantage Series

Nigerian-American writer, producer and entrepreneur Owen Odigie

Nigerian-American writer, producer and entrepreneur Owen Odigie is carving out a bold new space in global entertainment, with storytelling rooted in the experiences of the Black diaspora.

Odigie is the founder and CEO of Opulence Entertainment, a media company positioned at the crossroads of creativity, capital and culture.

His work is driven by a mission to tell nuanced, aspirational stories that reflect the realities of Black professionals navigating power, ambition and identity on a global stage.

His latest project, Osa’s Vantage (working title), is a dramedy series inspired by Odigie’s personal journey through elite professional environments where representation was scarce.

The series explores excellence under pressure, cultural identity and reinvention, all through a distinctly Black and international lens.

Before transitioning into entertainment, Odigie built a career in high finance.

He earned both an MBA and a Master’s degree in International Affairs from Columbia University, where he also served as Student Body President and Commencement Speaker milestones that highlighted his leadership and drive early on.

Those formative experiences now shape his creative vision. According to Odigie, Osa’s Vantage was born out of a desire to see stories he never encountered on screen.

He said, “I created Osa’s Vantage because I wanted to tell the kind of story I’d never seen before one that captures the ambition, pressure and quiet tension of navigating elite spaces as a young Black professional,” he said.

The series, which marks the flagship project of Opulence Entertainment, follows young Black professionals as they navigate ambition, belonging and identity across borders.

Odigie serves as co-executive producer and showrunner alongside Ben Cory Jones, best known for his work on HBO’s Insecure and BET’s Boomerang.

Initially financed through friends and family, the project later attracted early institutional backing from Jean-Marc Chapus, managing partner and co-founder of Crescent Capital Group — a significant vote of confidence in Odigie’s vision.

With Osa’s Vantage, Owen Odigie is positioning himself as a new voice to watch, championing globally resonant Black stories that bridge Africa, the diaspora and the world.
