Nigerian artists had earned over N60 billion from Spotify in 2025, according to the streaming platform’s annual report released on Monday.

The report highlights a 140% growth in revenue over the past two years, demonstrating the global demand for Nigerian music.

Independent artists and labels contributed 58% of all royalties, emphasizing the strength of Nigeria’s independent music scene.

In total, Nigerian artists recorded 30.3 billion streams and 1.6 billion listening hours in 2025. Female artists also saw remarkable growth, with local streams increasing by 55%.

Globally, Nigerian music reached audiences through nearly 320 million user playlists and more than 12 million playlists in Nigeria. Overall, over 60 million playlists featured Nigerian artists on Spotify during the year.

This data underscores Nigeria’s continuing influence in the global music industry, with artists consistently achieving record-breaking streams and playlist placements.
