Former England captain David Beckham has signed an exclusive long-term partnership with Fanatics, the company announced on Monday. The agreement grants Fanatics exclusive rights to Beckham’s signed memorabilia and collectibles, placing his image and likeness across the company’s various brands. Under the deal, the Manchester United and Real Madrid legend will also participate in public appearances and fan meet-and-greets.
The partnership focuses heavily on the distribution of rare autographed trading cards, which are scheduled to be released in select Topps Chrome packs beginning Feb. 5. Beckham’s collectibles currently command high valuations on the resale market, and this move shifts his future card releases under the Fanatics umbrella. By joining the firm’s roster, Beckham aligns with other prominent football figures including Harry Kane, Jude Bellingham, and Wayne Rooney.
The timing of the announcement is intended to capitalize on the anticipated growth of the sport ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The tournament, hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico, will feature a record 48 teams. Fanatics is already positioned as a major stakeholder in the event, having secured the rights to manage in-venue retail for the competition.
”Soccer continues to gain in popularity, so, I couldn’t be more excited,” David Leiner, president of trading cards at Fanatics, told ESPN. “Fanatics is running in-venue retail for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, so, all boats will rise. A guy like David can elevate the category and bring new folks in. We expect to have a really fun 2026.”
The agreement further expands Fanatics’ presence in global football, adding Beckham to a portfolio that already includes licensing deals with the Premier League, Major League Soccer, the Bundesliga, and UEFA club competitions.
