President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended warm congratulations to the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Bassey Eno, on the occasion of his 62nd birthday today, April 24, 2026. In a statement released through his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, the President described the Governor as a “diligent apostle of people-focused leadership.”
President Tinubu specifically lauded Governor Eno for his commitment to maintaining peace, security, and inclusive governance within Akwa Ibom State. He noted that the Governor’s ability to bridge political and social divides has been instrumental in aligning the state with the national “Renewed Hope” agenda. The President emphasized that such unity is a fundamental prerequisite for sustainable progress and development.
Highlighting the Governor’s achievements, the President praised the social intervention programs initiated under the “ARISE Agenda.” These include the construction and distribution of furnished, solar-powered homes for indigent citizens and the consistent provision of food items to thousands of vulnerable households across the state.
The President further expressed his appreciation for the Governor’s continued support of federal government initiatives and the collaborative spirit between the state and the center. The message concluded with prayers for the Governor’s continued good health and strength as he serves his people and the wider Nigerian nation.
Senate President Godswill Akpabio also joined in the celebrations, describing his successor as a leader who embodies “quiet strength” and “purposeful leadership,” further noting that the impacts of the Governor’s vision are becoming increasingly visible to the people of Akwa Ibom.
