Celebration As Former Defence Minister’s Nine Children Set For Same-Day Wedding

With extraordinary family celebration, nine children of the former Minister of State for Defence and former Zamfara State Governor, Malam Bello Matawalle, prepare to wed on the same day in Abuja.
While the wedding ceremony, rooted in Islamic tradition and family values, involves the nikaah of five sons and four daughters of the minister. The development has sparked widespread excitement on social media after the wedding invitation card surfaced online, with many describing the event as historic.
The solemn Islamic marriage rites are scheduled to take place at the Abuja National Mosque on February 6, beginning at 1:30 p.m. According to the invitation card, which features the minister’s photograph, the couples-to-be are Ibrahim, Suraj, Safiya, Maryam, Aisha, Fahad, Muh’d, Nana Firdausi, and Farida.
Preparations are already in advanced stages. Confirming the event, the All Progressives Congress (APC) spokesperson in Zamfara State, Yusuf Idris, told Sunday Punch that the organising committee is working round the clock to ensure a smooth and memorable occasion.
“By the grace of Allah, the nikaah will hold at the Abuja Central Mosque on February 6,” Idris said. “I am part of the organising committee, and arrangements have reached an advanced stage.”
