WWE has confirmed a headline clash between Nigerian wrestler Femi and Bron Breakker at Sunday Night’s Main Event in Atlanta on September 6, with the bout expected to have major implications for the promotion’s future.
The rivalry began on Raw when Breakker confronted Femi backstage. Paul Heyman intervened before the situation could escalate into a physical altercation, instead working with Raw General Manager Adam Pearce to turn the confrontation into an officially sanctioned match.
Heyman also pointed out that the event will take place in Atlanta, giving Breakker the advantage of competing in his home city.
The bout comes shortly after SummerSlam 2026, where WWE legend Brock Lesnar raised Femi’s hand after losing to the Nigerian star, a moment widely viewed as a symbolic passing of the torch.
Breakker, 28, competes on Raw under the nickname “Unpredictable Badass” and is one-half of the reigning World Tag Team Champions alongside Austin Theory as part of The Vision Alliance, with Heyman also involved with the group.
He joined WWE in 2021 before making his main-roster debut in 2024. Breakker has since won the Intercontinental Championship twice and captured two tag-team titles.
The upcoming showdown is being billed as a battle between two of WWE’s emerging stars, with Breakker determined to establish himself ahead of Femi.
Combat sports columnist Drake Riggs said Breakker remains focused on surpassing Femi but argued that WWE could maximise his potential by moving him away from the tag-team division and giving him a greater focus as a singles competitor.
The September 6 encounter in Atlanta could therefore prove pivotal in determining which of the two rising stars takes a major step towards becoming one of WWE’s leading names.
