Ogunjobi demanded motorists, transport operators, fleet managers, and other road users in the state to comply fully with traffic regulations during and after the enforcement period.

The Ogun State Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has launched a special enforcement operation to curb the use of fake and unauthorised number plates, as well as tackle vehicle overloading and unsafe haulage activities.

The operation, codenamed “Operation Guduma”, is a strategic intervention patrol aimed at reducing fatal road crashes across the country.

The command’s spokesperson, Afolabi Odunsi, confirmed in a statement that enforcement teams assigned to the operation would monitor and prosecute offenders involved in the use of fake diplomatic licence plates, overloading, mixed loading, and the transportation of unsecured containers.

He stated that the operation, in strict compliance with directives from the Corps National Headquarters, was being supervised by Assistant Corps Marshal (ACM) JO Asaolu, who was appointed by the Corps Marshal to oversee the special intervention.

According to the statement, the operation is being carried out in collaboration with the Ogun State Sector Commander, RS2.2, Corps Commander Oludare Ogunjobi.

Speaking on the operation, Ogunjobi urged motorists, transport operators, fleet managers, and other road users in the state to comply fully with traffic regulations during and after the enforcement period.

He reiterated that the command maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards traffic violations that endanger lives and property, stressing that the safety of all road users remains the Corps’ top priority.
