Lagos Begins Fresh Registration of Vulnerable Households

Lagos State Government has begun a fresh round of data capture to enrol poor and vulnerable households that were missed in its earlier database.

This move is meant to boost social protection and welfare delivery across all 57 LGAs/LCDAs.

The programme, led by the Lagos State Office of Social Protection, targets delivery support, including money transfers, healthcare access, and social welfare services.

This is part of the state’s ongoing effort to decrease poverty and enhance the living conditions of its most vulnerable citizens.

While speaking at the flag-off event, the Director of the Social Protection Coordinating Department, Mrs. Oluwakemi Garbadeen-Adedeji, who represented the Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Olayinka Ojo, reiterated the state government’s dedication to helping citizens in need.

“This registration is a key step in achieving our goal of targeted support for poor and vulnerable households,” he said, stressing that the exercise will help to locate those who may have been excluded in previous phases.

The Chairman of Ajibola CDA, Alhaja Arikawe Adewale, further hailed Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for the government’s sustained focus on social protection.

Describing the initiative as one of the obvious dividends of democracy, Arikawe urged officials to convey the community’s gratitude for the programme, which attracted major participation from residents.

The exercise is in addition to the ongoing integration of the Lagos State Single Social Register (LASSR) with the National Identification Number (NIN), which began on April 9, 2025, across all 57 Local Government Areas and LCDAs.
