NIMC has launched digital pre-enrolment site for faster identity registration

…reducing waiting times at enrolment centres.
The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has introduced a Pre-Enrolment Portal to allow applicants to securely submit their details, upload required documents, and schedule appointments before biometric capture.
In a post cited on its X handle on Friday, NIMC said the portal is designed to reduce waiting times at enrolment centres, improve data accuracy, and ensure a smoother registration experience for all citizens.
NIMC emphasised that the initiative reflects its commitment to providing efficient, secure, and citizen-friendly digital identity services, making the registration process more convenient and accessible for Nigerians.
The Head, Corporate Communication at NIMC, Dr Kayode Adegoke, the Commission said the new digital platform allows prospective applicants, both within Nigeria and in the Diaspora, to capture and submit their biodata online before visiting enrolment centres for biometric capture.
The initiative is designed to reduce congestion and long waiting times at enrolment centres nationwide.
The commission noted that the initiative aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu, which prioritises digital transformation, efficient public services, and inclusive national development.
The Director-General and Chief Executive Officer of NIMC, Engr. Abisoye Coker-Odusote said the portal would simplify the enrolment process by enabling applicants to complete a significant portion of their registration online before physical biometric capture.
Key features of the portal include online capture and management of NIN biodata, appointment scheduling to minimise delays at enrolment centres, and direct data entry by applicants to enhance accuracy.
The platform also provides secure and confidential handling of user information, supports seamless upload of required documents, and improves overall operational efficiency.
NIMC encouraged all prospective NIN applicants to take advantage of the Pre-Enrolment Portal, describing it as a faster and more convenient pathway to NIN registration.
The Commission added that the initiative underscores its commitment to building a reliable and inclusive digital identity ecosystem that supports national planning and development.
