Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, has been honoured with the traditional title ‘Soniyako Nupe’ by the Etsu Nupe, Yahaya Abubakar, in Bida.
The recognition celebrates her contributions to national development, unity, and humanitarian service.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Etsu Nupe described President Bola Tinubu as a friend of the Nupe Kingdom and assured him of continued support and prayers for the success of his administration’s policies and programmes.
In her response, Mrs Tinubu expressed appreciation for the honour and pledged her continued support to the palace and the people of Niger State. She noted that the conferment of the title has further inspired her to do more for the Nupe Kingdom and the state at large.
The ceremony was attended by prominent dignitaries, including Niger State Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago, his deputy Yakubu Garba, and other traditional leaders.
The event highlighted a rich display of cultural heritage while underscoring the importance of leadership, unity, and service to the nation.
