Sujimoto Group has announced its strategic entry into Nigeria’s food processing and manufacturing sector with plans to establish a large-scale food production operation aimed at strengthening food security, promoting industrial growth, and supporting economic development across the country.

Speaking on the development, the Founder and Group Managing Director of Sujimoto, Sijibomi Ogundele, disclosed that the company has commenced strategic engagements with international technology partners to bring world-class food manufacturing standards to Nigeria.

According to him, Nigeria’s growing population and increasing demand for food products present significant opportunities for investment in food production and processing.

“With a population of over 240 million people and an estimated annual food consumption exceeding 330 million tonnes, Nigeria presents enormous opportunities in the food production sector. This is why Sujimoto Foods was established—to play a meaningful role in transforming and revolutionising food manufacturing in Nigeria,” Ogundele said.

As part of this vision, Sujimoto recently held a strategic meeting with Peter Sang, General Manager of Cotco Food Machinery OEM, one of China’s leading food processing machinery manufacturers. The partnership is expected to support Sujimoto Foods in deploying modern food processing technologies and global best practices within Nigeria’s manufacturing ecosystem.

Ogundele noted that the same commitment to quality, innovation, and excellence that has distinguished Sujimoto in the real estate sector will be replicated in its food manufacturing operations.

“Sujimoto Foods is embarking on the establishment of a state-of-the-art food manufacturing operation that will participate across the food value chain with an annual production target of approximately one million tonnes. Our objective is to deliver high-quality food products to millions of Nigerians while contributing significantly to national food security, industrial development, and job creation,” he stated.

He further emphasized that the company’s diversification into food manufacturing does not diminish its commitment to real estate development, which remains a core pillar of the Sujimoto brand.

According to him, the company continues to make significant progress on its luxury real estate developments, including the completion of LucreziaBySujimoto, widely regarded as one of Nigeria’s most iconic luxury residential developments.

Building on that success, Sujimoto is advancing work on its next flagship project, LeonardoBySujimoto, a 60-storey development envisioned as one of Africa’s most luxurious and architecturally significant skyscrapers.

“This project is not merely another skyscraper. It is a bold statement of innovation, excellence, and world-class development. Our vision is to create one of the most luxurious and iconic developments on the African continent, setting new standards for luxury living and architectural excellence,” Ogundele added.

He expressed appreciation to stakeholders, investors, customers, and partners for their continued confidence in the Sujimoto vision, assuring them that the company remains committed to delivering transformative projects across multiple sectors of the Nigerian economy.
