Yusuf Buhari, son of former late Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari, has formally declared his intention to contest for a seat in the House of Representatives ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Yusuf Buhari made his ambition known after consultations with political stakeholders, expressing his desire to contribute to leadership and grassroots development in his constituency. He is seeking to represent the Daura/Sandamu/Mai’Adua Federal Constituency in Katsina State under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
This move marks his first major step into active politics, having previously maintained a relatively low public profile. His declaration has begun to generate attention within political circles, with early reactions emerging from party members and local leaders.
The 2027 general elections are expected to be highly competitive, with all 360 seats in the House of Representatives open for contest nationwide.
