Cristiano Ronaldo wins the Best Middle East Player award at the Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai, beating Benzema, Mahrez and Al-Dawsari

Portuguese football icon Cristiano Ronaldo has been named Best Middle East Player at the 16th edition of the Globe Soccer Awards, held in Dubai on Sunday.

The 40-year-old Al-Nassr forward topped a fan-voted category ahead of fellow stars Karim Benzema, Riyad Mahrez and Salem Al-Dawsari.

The award was confirmed by renowned football journalist Fabrizio Romano in a post on social media platform X on Sunday.

Ronaldo’s latest honour marks his second consecutive victory in the category, following his success in 2024.

The recognition further underlines his enduring influence in the Saudi Pro League since joining Al-Nassr in 2023.

During the 2025 calendar year, Ronaldo delivered a prolific campaign, scoring 40 goals since his birthday in February, a striking achievement at the age of 40.

The Globe Soccer Awards, organised annually in Dubai since 2010, celebrate excellence across global football, recognising players, coaches, clubs and administrators.

At the same ceremony, French champions Paris Saint-Germain were named Best Men’s Club after a dominant season that included UEFA Champions League, Super Cup, Ligue 1 and Coupe de France titles.

Individual honours were also awarded to PSG figures, with Luis Enrique named Best Coach, Vitinha Best Midfielder, Désiré Doué Emerging Player and Luis Campos Best Sporting Director.
