Shina Peller distributes over 2000 rams to Muslims
The immediate past member of the National Assembly, representing Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Kajola/Iwajowa Federal Constituency, Oyo State, Shina Abiola Peller, has distributed over 2000 rams to the Muslims in the constituency and, by extension, Oyo North Senatorial District, to make this year’s Eid-el-Kabir celebration worthwhile.
Peller, who personally supervised the distribution of the rams alongside bags of rice and other items in Iseyin, Iseyin Local Government Area of the state, urged them to live in peace and harmony with one another.
He said, “Over 2000 families benefited from this humanitarian gesture. This is to enable them to have a fun-filled Salah celebration with their family members, close associates and friends. And you know, distribution of rams, bags of rice and other items to people during Sallah celebration has always been my usual act, even long before I joined politics.”
Peller said whether he held any public office or not, he would not stop reaching out to the people, particularly the needy, during festive periods like Eid ul Fitri, Eid al-Adha, Easter, Christmas and New Year’s celebrations generally.
He, therefore, wished them a blissful salah celebration and urged them to make peace their watchwords.
“This is wishing my Muslim brothers and sisters a fun-filled 2023 Eid al-Adha celebration filled with love, happiness, joy, affluence and sound health. Today is so pious to us all as Muslims and we must make it count by seeking God’s mercy and forgiveness for our shortcomings and praying fervently for peace to reign in our country.
“Since Islam, which we practise, means peace, it is very important that we make peace our watchword, we should think peace, preach peace always and religious tolerance. Importantly, as we wine and dine during this festive period, we should remember to reach out to our fellow Muslims in whatever way we can, particularly the needy,” he added.
