The influencer, D’banj’s mum, made Mo’Hits’ decisions – Ikechukwu

Nigerian singer, rapper, and actor Ikechukwu Onunaku, popularly known as Ikechukwu has claimed that Faith Oyebanjo, the mother to D’banj, used to make decisions for the now-defunct group, Mo’Hits Records.

In a recent live session with Daddy Freeze, Ikechukwu said D’banj’s mother was “spiritually” part of Mo’Hits.

He claimed that Oyebanjo assented to every action — including financial decisions — made at the record label.

The rapper alleged that D’banj, also called Banga Lee, used to pay him about N50,000 whenever he brought shows worth N2 million.

He claimed that D’banj increased the money to N150,000 after consulting his mother.

“Banga is going to hate this when I say it. The truth is the truth. When we used to be on the road dem go pay Banga money. He go do like sey hin dey do me favour when hin dey give me N50k. Me that back then, I used to book N1.5 million, N2 million. He increased it one time after we don fight. He said he talked to Mummy. Everything is okay we will increase am to N150k,” he said in pidgin English.

When Daddy Freeze asked if D’banj’s mother was part of the record label, Ikechukwu replied, “His mummy, yes. Spiritually yes”.

“For a long time. Ask Jazzy now. Dem no dey make decision without mumsy giving the okay,” he said in pidgin English.

Mo’Hits was established in 2006. It was home to artistes like Don Jazzy, D’banj, Wande Coal, Dr Sid, D’Prince, K-Switch and Ikechukwu.

The label — which was co-owned by Don Jazzy and D’banj — folded up in 2012.

After the split, Don Jazzy set up Mavin Records while Dbanj started DB Records.
