MainOne Succeeds In Restoration Of Submarine Cable System, Overcoming Disruption

MainOne, a leading provider of undersea fibre optic internet connectivity in West Africa, has successfully repaired its submarine cable system. The cable fault, which occurred on March 14, 2024, disrupted internet services across the region.

MainOne, now part of Equinix, collaborated swiftly with regional partners, maintenance providers, vessel owners, and permitting authorities to expedite the repairs. Their combined efforts ensured the swift restoration of the cable system with the utmost integrity.

To minimize customer impact during the outage, MainOne implemented rerouting measures and provided additional network capacity.
