Behind The Scenes’ emerges highest grossing Nollywood film in UK, Ireland

      March 17, 2026

Nigerian media mogul Mo Abudu is set to deepen her global influence as the EbonyLife brand prepares to launch EbonyLife Place London, a major cultural and creative hub dedicated to amplifying African storytelling and entrepreneurship in the United Kingdom. The new venture, situated in the heart of London, is designed as a multi-purpose space that will serve as a meeting point for filmmakers, content creators, investors, and creatives of African descent. The project reflects EbonyLife’s long-standing mission to project authentic African narratives onto the global stage while creating sustainable opportunities within the creative economy. Speaking on the development, Abudu emphasized that the initiative is more than just a physical space, describing it as “a home for African creatives in the diaspora and a bridge connecting talent from Africa to the rest of the world.” She added that the hub would foster collaboration, innovation, and access to global markets, noting that “the time has come for African stories to take their rightful place at the center of global conversations.” EbonyLife Place London is expected to host film screenings, industry events, training programmes, and business incubation initiatives aimed at nurturing emerging talent while supporting established creators. The facility will also provide networking opportunities for stakeholders across film, television, fashion, and digital media. Industry analysts say the move signals a strategic expansion of EbonyLife’s footprint beyond Nigeria and reinforces the growing global appetite for African content. By establishing a permanent presence in one of the world’s leading creative capitals, the brand is positioning itself as a key player in shaping how African stories are produced, distributed, and consumed internationally. The launch marks another milestone in EbonyLife’s evolution from a Nigerian-based media company into a globally recognized creative powerhouse, underscoring Abudu’s vision of building platforms that not only tell African stories but also empower the people behind them.

OGWASHI-UKU DAM: Abandoned Despite Push by Sen Ned Nwoko

OGWASHI-UKU DAM : DESPITE SEN NED NWOKO PUSH, DELTA GOVERNMENT HAS REFUSED TO DO THE NEEDFUL.

A lot have been said concerning the Ogwashi-Uku Dam that has been completely built by the federal government.

    NOTE :

The Ogwashi-Uku Dam, Okpai IPP Stepdown and Federal Roads in Delta North are some of the projects the Senator has been requesting the Delta State Government to takeover and fund them for the benefit of the People.

THE OGWASHI-UKU EARTH DAM PROJECT ISSUES.

The Most Distinguished Nigerian Senator Prince Ned Nwoko has been pushing for the completion of the Ogwashi-Uku Earth Dam to supply water to over 70 Delta communities majorly Delta North

The Senator submitted a letter to the office of the Honorable Minister on the need to complete the Dam.

Below is the text of the reply letter from the Minister of Water Resources & Sanitation to Sen Ned Nwoko:

    Senator Prince Ned Nwoko

    Delta North Senatorial District

    RE: OGWASHI-UKU EARTH DAM PROJECT

I wish to refer to your letter Ref No. P/SEN/NED/00269/2024 dated 9th May 2024 on the above subject matter and to inform you that on completion of the Dam, the Ministry handed over to Benin Owena River Basin Development Authority (BORBDA) in 2019, for effective utilisation of the impounded water.

In line with your submission, you are kindly requested to advice the Delta State Government to collaborate with Benin Owena River Basin Development Authority (BORBDA) to complete the water supply component of the project for effective water distribution to the benefiting communities.

Please accept the assurance of the warm regards òf the Honorable Minister

    Signed:

    Shehu Aliyu Shinkafi FCNA

Permanent Secretary DELTA STATE GOVERNMENT REFUSAL TO DO THE NEEDFUL

From the letter by the Honourable Minister of Water Resources one can nclearly see the Federal Government Position on the subject matter. The FG have completed their own work.

What is remaining now is for the Delta State Government to build the Water Treatment Plant and do the Pipings to Homes and Farms.

    The Dam when completed has 3 major functions which are;

Supply of good treated water for Household Use

    Irrigation for Farms and

    Power Generation.

The big question now is Why have Delta State Government refused to do the needful? The Senator, Prince Ned Nwoko has met severally with the State Governor on this, he even made an open confrontation with Governor Sherrif and former Governor Okowa at the PDP Caucus Meeting, despite the massive FG Allocation, they keep saying that there is no money.

What then can one say about the Delta State Government interest on the welfare of Delta Northerners? Ordinarily, the completion of the Ogwashi-Uku Dam ought to be a top priority of the State Government owing to its huge economic benefit to the People and the State at large. Why have they refused to do the needful giving excuses of no money.

The People’s Senator Prince Ned Nwoko has equally facilitated a second Dam in Idumuje-Ugboko which is in the current 2024 budget.

It is clear that the refusal of the Delta State Government to fund important projects in Delta North as lobbied by the Senator is a deliberate act of sectional and preferential leadership of the Governor Sherrif Oborevwori led administration against the good people of Delta North.

Recall that during the last 2023 General election, mostly that of the Governorship election, the entire Delta North was delivered for PDP while the Delta Central lost 4 LGAs to the opposition (APC).

What then is the sin of Delta North People against this administration?

All the Senator wants is Water, Good Roads and 24hrs Power Supply for Delta North People. Is this too difficult or too much to ask for?
