Otunba Engr. Gbenga Daniel, a former Governor of Ogun State and current senator representing Ogun East, has extended warm congratulations to the Awujale and Paramount Ruler of Ijebu-land, Oba Dr. Sikiru Kayode Adetona, GCON, Ogbagba II, on the remarkable occasion of his 65th coronation anniversary.
In a congratulatory message published in the Nigerian Tribune, Senator Daniel expressed “immense joy and profound respect” as he joined the entire Ijebu kingdom in celebrating the monarch’s milestone achievement.
The Senator praised Oba Adetona’s 65-year reign as “a testament to unwavering dedication, exemplary leadership, and profound wisdom,” noting that the monarch has served as “a beacon of progress, peace, and cultural preservation for Ijebu-land and beyond.”
Otunba Daniel, who serves as the Otunba Obalofin of Ijebu-land, highlighted the Awujale’s unparalleled commitment to his people’s welfare and his ability to navigate the complexities of modern times while maintaining strong adherence to rich traditions.
“You are a true custodian of our heritage, and your contributions to the development of Ijebu-land are immeasurable,” the message read.

The message closed with a traditional greeting in Yoruba: “Kí adé pé lórí, kì bàtà pé lésè, Kabiyesi” – a phrase wishing longevity to the king’s reign.
