UBA Foundation charity outreach attends to elders, young ones, needy with relief materials in Lagos

UBA Foundation charity outreach in Lagos delivers food, essentials, and hope to the aged, children, and vulnerable communities in a heartfelt gesture of corporate social responsibility.

UBA Foundation charity outreach has once again demonstrated the power of corporate social responsibility, bringing much-needed relief, care, and hope to some of Lagos’ most vulnerable residents.

In a heartwarming show of compassion, the Corporate Social Responsibility arm of United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc visited So-Said Charity Homes Community and SOS Children’s Village in Lagos, delivering truckloads of essential food items and relief supplies.

The donations included bags of rice, beans, and other staple necessities, carefully chosen to address immediate needs and help ease the daily struggles faced by the elderly, children, and disadvantaged individuals living in these communities.

Speaking at the event, Alero Ladipo, UBA’s Group Head, Marketing and Corporate Communications, highlighted that the outreach is part of the Foundation’s broader mission to make a tangible difference.

“At UBA Foundation, we believe in touching lives and giving back to the communities where we operate. The elderly and children are among the most vulnerable in society, and it is our responsibility to support them in any way we can. This outreach is a testament to our commitment to corporate social responsibility and sustainable development,” she said.

The CEO of So-Said Charity Homes Community, Mrs. Felicia Martins, expressed deep appreciation for the gesture, describing the timing as both necessary and impactful.

“We are deeply thankful to UBA Foundation for remembering us and putting smiles on the faces of our residents. These donations will go a long way in providing much-needed relief, especially in these challenging times,” she said.

At SOS Children’s Village, Programme Director Ayodeji Adelopo also lauded the Foundation’s consistent support for orphaned and vulnerable children.

“UBA Foundation has consistently shown that it cares about the welfare of children. This donation will help ensure that the children under our care have access to nutritious meals and other essentials. We appreciate this act of kindness,” he stated.

The outreach was not just about distributing food; it was about restoring dignity, fostering connection, and reminding the recipients that they are not forgotten.

Residents of both communities gathered in joyful anticipation as UBA Foundation staff and volunteers personally handed over the relief items, engaging warmly with the elderly, chatting with the children, and sharing moments of laughter.

Many beneficiaries spoke of how the donations would directly improve their daily lives, from ensuring children had enough to eat to easing the financial burden on caregivers.

UBA Foundation’s Managing Director/CEO, Bola Atta, reinforced the organisation’s dedication to long-term community impact.

“We remain steadfast in our mission to uplift communities through education, empowerment, environment and other programs. Our various outreaches demonstrate our commitment towards making a difference in the society,” she affirmed.

The foundation’s philanthropic track record spans numerous African countries, with initiatives in educational scholarships, healthcare interventions, and poverty alleviation programs.

These projects aim not just to provide temporary relief, but to create sustainable pathways out of hardship.
