Company presents charcoal toothpaste, launches consumer empowerment initiative

An indigenous health and wellness firm, Nature’s Renaissance International (NRI) has unveiled two new oral care products: the UATD Eyi toothpaste and UATD Eyi children toothpaste, into the Nigerian market.

The products, made from local natural products such as charcoal and herbal extracts (for the adult toothpaste) and strawberry and grape flavour (for infants/children), marked a new level in NRI’s effort at providing indigenous solutions to health problems in Nigeria.

The launch also doubled as a platform to announce the company’s empowerment initiative tagged: Paste4Alert, which will see every product purchase (of N3,000) rewarded with a cash alert of N5,000.

This, according to the CEO of the company, Prof. Clinton Brown Odiagbe, is a way of ensuring that the product gets to as many homes as possible, while also enriching pockets.

While speaking to the media at the launch, held at Radisson Blu Hotel, Ikeja, Odiagbe said he founded the organisation to seek solutions to problems bedeviling Africa, using local herbal products.

“The UATD Eyi toothpaste is not just the regular black thing in the form of a paste, but a charcoal toothpaste with herbal extract. So the health benefit attached goes beyond the whitening of the teeth or oral hygiene, as it also relaxes your nerves,” Odiagbge said.

About the empowerment aspect, Odiagbe said: “The amazing part of the project is the wealth creation initiative we have attached to it. The project is tagged: Paste4alert; and it is an indigenous wealth creation initiative, where you’re going to buy our paste and the company rewards you for buying our paste. So you buy a toothpaste for N3,000, and the company rewards you with N5,000 within 24 hours.”
