Wells Carlton Hotel Refutes Reports of Plan Sale Says It’s False

The management of The Wells Carlton Hotel and Apartments, a premier 5-star facility located in Asokoro, Abuja, has officially refuted social media claims that the property is up for sale for ₦17 billion.
The false reports, which have circulated for years, have caused confusion among members of the public and potential investors.
Spanning one hectare of prime land, the hotel features 300 rooms and suites, along with top-tier amenities including a swimming pool, fully equipped gym, male and female spa facilities, and a luxury lounge.
Despite these offerings, the management insists there has never been any plan or authorization to sell the property.
In an official statement credited to the management, they said, “There has never been any plan or authorization to sell the property in any guise whatsoever.
“Neither the family of our late founder nor The Wells Carlton Limited has authorized any sale of the hotel and apartments. These claims are entirely baseless and should not be relied upon by the public.”
The management further cautioned, “Any individual or organization attempting to sell the hotel or solicit funds in connection with it is acting illegally. Anyone approached with such offers should report the matter immediately to law enforcement authorities.”
A spokesperson for the hotel also emphasized, “These claims have circulated for years without merit. Our guests, partners, and the general public should be assured that the hotel is fully operational and not for sale. We are grateful for the continued trust and loyalty of our clients.”
Located in Abuja’s prestigious Asokoro district, the Wells Carlton Hotel and Apartments continues to be a landmark in Nigeria’s hospitality sector.
By issuing this clarification, the management hopes to put an end to the persistent misinformation and reassure stakeholders that the property will remain under its current ownership.
