The initiative is aimed at enhancing the capacity of Nigerian youths with viable skills to boost the Nigerian economy in various sectors thereby, curbing unemployment and youth restiveness.

The Executive Director of (IYAMIDR) Nigeria and facilitator, Solomon Okoduwa and Representatives of Genoa and Genova Consultant, Antonio Lovecchio and Maduka sealed the training agreement Wednesday in Italy.

Excited Okoduwa shortly after signing the MoU, said the engagement serves as an intervention for the manpower gap in the oil and gas industry, adding that over 200 youths are expected to undergo the training

“We want to use this opportunity to especially thank Ambassador Mfawa Abam of the Nigeria Embassy, Rome, for his fatherly and patriotic support towards this project.

“We most sincerely thank the Italian Ambassador in Abuja and most remarkably the great cooperation shown to us by the Consular General of the Italian Embassy, Dr Bovi, we thank you very much for your kind assistance in realising this project.

“This project is geared towards the renewed hope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in building confidence in the Nigerian youths and making Nigeria great again.

He added that Nigerian youths under the programme would acquire training in welding/fabrication, ship dockyard, Yacht maintenance, rail track installation and maintenance, among others.

Antonio Lovecchio in his remarks, said that the project would help to redirect the future of Nigerian youths.

He expressed readiness to collaborate with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to achieve his renewed hope agenda in transforming the nation’s economic blueprint for a better Nigeria.

Also, the Director of Training and foreign affairs, Samuel Izekor reaffirmed the determination of IYAMIDR to deliver on the project and build a better nation in the midst of a dwindling economy.
