In respect of late mother, Davido unveils new university hostel

… says talent can open doors, purpose gives meaning to it.

Nigerian afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has commissioned an hostel at Clifford University, Abia State, naming it after his late mother.

The hostel, was unveiled during the school’s convocation ceremony, where Davido encouraged the graduates to ensure their lives has purpose.

He also stated that although talent can open doors, purpose gives meaning to ones talent.

“When I looked into their faces, I saw the same fire that built me — that hunger to be seen, to make something out of nothing, to turn pain into power. I told them that talent might open the door, but purpose gives it meaning. My mother, Dr. Veronica Adeleke, was a teacher and giver who believed education and compassion could change lives. This building is a continuation of her purpose — turning love into legacy,” he stated.

Alongside Davido at the event was his close friend Cubana Chief Priest. He also pledged his support to the school by supporting 50 students with their tuition.
