Nollywood’s undisputed box office queen, Funke Akindele, has extended her golden run from the cinemas to the global streaming stage. Her latest blockbuster, ‘Behind The Scenes’, has officially claimed the number one spot on Netflix Nigeria just 24 hours after its digital debut.
The film, which had already cemented its legendary status by raking in over ₦2 billion during its theatrical run, arrived on the streaming platform on Friday. By Saturday morning, it had climbed to the top of the “Top 10” chart, sparking an emotional outpouring from the filmmaker.
“This one is really special to me,” Akindele shared in a heartfelt message to her fans. “What’s being celebrated today came from days of hard work, long hours, and an unshakable belief that we could create something meaningful. Seeing #BehindTheScenes become No. 1 means so much to me. Thank you for believing in this journey.”
The star-studded film features a powerhouse cast including Ibrahim Chatta, Destiny Etiko, Tobi Bakre, and Iyabo Ojo. It tells the gripping story of Aderonke, a high-flying real estate mogul whose world is systematically dismantled by the greed of her own family members.
