Renowned actress and filmmaker Dayo Amusa has been officially sworn in as the National Vice President (South-West) of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, marking a new phase in her long involvement in the Nigerian film industry.
The swearing-in ceremony, which took place at a formal AGN event, was attended by guild executives, industry stakeholders and members from the South-West zone. Amusa was confirmed into the position following the conclusion of the guild’s internal processes, according to AGN officials.
Speaking after taking the oath of office, Amusa described her appointment as a “call to service,” saying she was committed to using the platform to strengthen professionalism, welfare and unity within the acting community. She pledged to work closely with the national leadership and state chapters to address longstanding challenges facing practitioners in the zone.
AGN officials said her experience as an actress, filmmaker and producer would be an asset to the guild’s leadership, particularly in policy advocacy and capacity development for members. They expressed confidence that her tenure would contribute to the growth and stability of the industry.
Amusa has remained a prominent figure in Nollywood for over two decades, featuring in numerous productions and earning recognition for her contributions to film and television. The guild said her appointment reflects a broader effort to entrust leadership roles to experienced professionals with a track record of service to the industry.
