I’m An African Artist – Burna Boy

Burna Boy
Grammy awards winning Afrobeats super star, Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has made public the fact that he is not a Nigerian artiste and should be addressed as an African artiste.
“I don’t want people calling me just Nigerian. That is disrespectful.” Burna Boy said.
“I’m not a Nigerian artist. When people call me Nigerian, I feel like my dreams are fa!ling. I’m African, and my dream is to make Africa united,” he stressed on his social media accounts
“When I see Nigeria and South Africa fighting every time, I cry. America is successful today because all the countries (states) that make up America don’t see any difference in each other. Their strength comes from unity,” he explained
“When you say you are from the US, people respect you without asking which state you are from, but for Africa, it’s always us fighting each other. The day Africa becomes the United States of Africa, we will have the strongest nation in the world. Our music industry will grow and our sound will be global. Africans are strong, but disunity and hate weakens us.” Burna Boy said.
