Fuji music legend King Wasiu Ayinde, popularly known as K1 De Ultimate, prostrated fully before former President Olusegun Obasanjo on stage during the 60th birthday celebration of the Olota of Ota, Oba Abdulkabir Adeyemi Obalanlege.
The moment, captured in a video shared on Friday by k1deultimatedigitalmedia, occurred on Thursday night while K1 was performing at the royal event in Ota.
As Obasanjo stepped onto the stage, K1 halted his performance and lowered himself to the floor in the traditional Yoruba manner of greeting elders.
Obasanjo responded by walking over to the singer, patting him on the back, then taking the microphone to address guests and greet the celebrant monarch.
The display of cultural reverence between the elder statesman and the Fuji icon quickly went viral online.
The clip also showed Obasanjo speaking to the gathering amid the band setup.
