Broda Shaggi has been away from social media for several months which caused fans and followers to worry about his present condition.
Popular Nigerian skit maker and actor, Samuel Perry, popularly known as Broda Shaggi, has returned to social media several months after reportedly sustaining a gunshot injury during a film production.
The comedian made his return on Saturday, August 8, 2026, with a humorous video posted on his Instagram page, marking his first public post on the platform since the incident.
Shaggi was reportedly injured in March while filming around the Sango-Ota Bridge area of Ogun State. According to reports at the time, the entertainer sustained an injury to his leg and was initially rushed to a hospital in Alakuko, Lagos, before being transferred to another medical facility in the Government Residential Area of Ikeja.
Following the reported incident, Shaggi stayed away from social media for several months, leaving fans and followers concerned about his wellbeing.
However, his latest Instagram post appears to signal his return to public engagement. The skit maker shared a comic video with the caption, “65 years of celibacy journey of no return.”
His return to Instagram came less than 24 hours after he broke his silence through his WhatsApp channel, where he expressed appreciation to fans and supporters who continued to reach out to him during his absence.
Shaggi acknowledged that he had not been able to engage with his audience as frequently as he would have liked, but said the continued support and encouragement from his followers meant a great deal to him.
In his message, the entertainer wrote:
“To everyone who’s still here… waiting, checking in, showing love, and holding me down even through the silence, thank you.
“I don’t think y’all truly understand how much that means to me. Even when I haven’t been able to show up the way I wanted to, knowing that y’all are still here has meant more than I can put into words.”
The message has since reassured fans who had been waiting for an update from the comedian following his prolonged absence from social media.
Shaggi’s latest post also suggests that he is gradually reconnecting with his audience and returning to the comic content that has made him one of Nigeria’s popular skit makers.
