Veteran actor Yinka Quadri is celebrating his birthday with prayers and a charity visit, choosing service over a conventional celebration.
In a message shared on his social media page on Sunday, the actor said he dedicated the day to prayers, charity and gratitude.
He expressed appreciation to God for life, protection and another year, and prayed for long life, sound health, peace, prosperity and a life of purpose.
Quadri stated that he’d spend the morning hours at home in prayers before proceeding to a charity home to share with those in need.
He noted that family, friends, fans and colleagues who wished to celebrate with him could visit after the charity outing, adding that their prayers and goodwill meant more to him than any elaborate event.
The actor said his prayers for the new year would focus on himself, his family and the country.
He prayed for peace, progress and prosperity for Nigeria and Nigerians.
He also remembered his late parents and Ogogo in prayers, asking for eternal rest for them.
Quadri wrote, “Alhamdulillahi Rabbil ‘Alamin. Glory be to God Almighty, for He alone makes all things possible. Today, I am +1. I am deeply grateful to Allah for the gift of life, for His protection, His mercy, and for bringing me to yet another beautiful milestone. My prayer is that Allah grants me long life, sound health, peace, prosperity, and a life filled with purpose and impact. Ameen.
“To my family, friends, fans, colleagues, and all my wonderful well-wishers who wish to celebrate with me, I sincerely appreciate your love, prayers, and goodwill. Rather than a conventional birthday celebration, I have chosen to dedicate today to prayers, charity, and gratitude.
“I will be at home from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. for prayers. Afterwards, I will proceed to a charity home to share love and give back to those in need, before returning home.
“Anyone who wishes to celebrate with me is warmly welcome to visit me at home after the charity visit. Your presence, prayers, and goodwill will mean more to me than any elaborate celebration. My birthday prayers today will be centred on:
