Media entrepreneur Gbemi Olateru-Olagbegi is set to launch a new YouTube talk show titled The Fashion Roundtable on March 19, 2026, in a move aimed at creating a platform for candid discussions about the Nigerian fashion industry.
The programme, which will stream on YouTube, is designed to feature conversations with leading designers, models, stylists and other creative professionals shaping the country’s fashion landscape. According to the organisers, the show will focus on providing an unfiltered perspective on the industry, examining both its opportunities and persistent challenges.
Speaking ahead of the launch, Olateru-Olagbegi explained that the idea behind the talk show was to create a space where fashion professionals could share honest experiences about the realities of the business. “The Nigerian fashion industry is vibrant and globally recognised, but there are many conversations that often happen behind closed doors. The Fashion Roundtable will bring those discussions to the forefront,” she said.
She added that the show would highlight the stories, struggles and successes of creatives who continue to push the boundaries of Nigerian fashion, noting that the platform would also explore issues such as industry structure, sustainability, creativity and market access.
Industry observers say the initiative could contribute to greater visibility for emerging talents while offering audiences deeper insights into how the sector operates. Nigeria’s fashion industry has grown significantly over the past decade, with designers increasingly gaining international recognition and participating in global fashion events.
Olateru-Olagbegi noted that the talk show will prioritise authenticity in its conversations with guests. “We want the discussions to be open, reflective and real. The goal is to amplify the voices of the people building the industry and to encourage more collaboration and understanding across the sector,” she said.
The first episode of The Fashion Roundtable is expected to premiere on March 19, with subsequent episodes featuring a rotating lineup of designers, stylists, models and fashion entrepreneurs discussing trends, challenges and the future of the Nigerian fashion ecosystem.
