… urges to use his office for unity of the nation.
Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has been installed as the Okanlomo of Yorubaland.
The Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly and Chairman of the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures of Nigeria, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, described the honour as well deserved, praising Tinubu’s growing influence among youths and his philanthropic engagements.
The traditional title was conferred on Sunday, December 21, 2025, by the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Abimbola Akeem Owoade I, during a colourful ceremony held at the Alaafin’s Palace in Oyo Town.
In a congratulatory message, Ogundoyin said the installation goes beyond ceremonial recognition, describing it as a call to service and leadership within Yorubaland.
“This is not just a traditional title; it is a call to service and a recognition of leadership potential,” the Speaker said, noting that the honour reflects values cherished by the Yoruba people, including excellence, community service and legacy.
Ogundoyin also commended the Alaafin for sustaining Yoruba culture and strengthening traditional institutions through the conferment of titles on individuals he described as worthy ambassadors of the heritage.
He urged Seyi Tinubu to use his new status to promote unity, cultural pride, youth empowerment and sustainable development across Yorubaland.
