Alhaji Kollington Ayinla explains why he refused to show up at Kwam1’s mother’s burial

Alhaji Kollington Ayinla

Veteran Nigerian Fuji musician, Alhaji Kollington Ayinla, has responded strongly to allegations made by his colleague, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as Kwam1 or K1.

In a recent interview with Agbaletu TV, Kwam1 expressed his disappointment, claiming that Kollington failed to condole with him during the passing of his mother.

According to Kwam1, he had shown support during Kollington’s own time of grief by attending the burial with dignitaries and handling financial matters, but felt deeply hurt when the gesture was not reciprocated.

Kwam1 alleged that despite being healthy and present in Nigeria at the time, Kollington made excuses, claiming he called but Kwam1 did not pick up.

However, in a swift response during an interview, Kollington debunked the claims, insisting that he made several attempts to reach Kwam1 when his mother passed away, but received no response.

“When Wasiu Ayinde’s mum died, I called him severally. He didn’t pick nor did he return the calls. Even on New Year’s Day, I called, and he didn’t pick up. I was like, what’s wrong with this boy? So I let him be,” Kollington stated.

The legendary Fuji singer went further to suggest that Kwam1’s alleged pride could be linked to his new title as the ‘Olori Omoba’ of Ijebu. Kollington emphasized that the title has no bearing on him and cautioned Kwam1 against arrogance, declaring himself as the undisputed leader of Fuji musicians.

“I am the leader of all Fuji singers. If he wants to become the leader, he can come and kill me. He can never be the leader while I am alive. For me to have survived the sickness that happened to me recently, it is only God that can take me,” Kollington declared.
