Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen and his Galatasaray teammates were hosted by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan following their Süper Lig triumph.
Galatasaray extended their dominance in the league this season, winning their 26th title and finishing three points ahead of closest rivals Fenerbahçe.
Osimhen was instrumental to the title run, scoring 15 league goals and providing five assists in 22 matches. He also added seven goals and three assists in 10 UEFA Champions League games before the Turkish side were eliminated by Liverpool in the round of 16.
Following their Süper Lig victory, the entire Galatasaray squad was honoured with a reception by President Erdoğan.
Osimhen and his teammates, all dressed in suits, were hosted at the Presidential Complex in Ankara, where they exchanged handshakes with the president.
Galatasaray president Dursun Özbek also presented the club’s jersey to Erdoğan during the visit.
If they retain the Süper Lig title next season, Galatasaray will become the first club in Turkish football history to win five consecutive league championships.
Osimhen has enjoyed a successful spell with the Turkish giants, winning three titles with the club.
At the moment, several clubs across Europe are trying to lure the striker away from Galatasaray.
The 27-year-old has been linked with moves to clubs including Chelsea, Barcelona and Bayern Munich, but Galatasaray have maintained their stance on keeping the Nigerian forward.
