The book has 600 pages with records of achievers for the state.
The late former Presidents Muhammad Buhari and Umaru Musa-Yar’adua were among the top people listed in a book published with the names of prominent Nigerians from Katsina State.
The book titled ‘100+Eminent Nigerians from the Katsina State: Profiles in Nation Building and History, Volume One’, was unveiled in Katsina on Wednesday.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the book was inaugurated by the Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Tinubu on politics, Alhaji Ibrahim Kabir-Masari.
The book was published in respect of Katsina indigenes who have contributed in various capacities to the development of the state, in particular, and the country at large.
In his remarks, Governor Dikko Radda said that it was not just about inaugurating the book, but residents, especially the young ones, should read it so that they could learn from it.
According to him, many young people do not know about the contributions of most people listed in the book, hence the need for them to read the book and learn from it.
“This is not just a book, but something to hold dearly close to our hearts with a view to studying it, learning from it, and emulating the works and good values of these eminent personalities from the state.
“My hope and prayer is for us to make good use of this book, and also make it available to our younger ones, so that they will learn some lessons from it.”
Earlier, the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Abdullahi Garba-Faskari, said the book was an important document with over 100 eminent Katsina indigenes who had contributed to the development of the state in particular, and the nation at large.
“It is an important document because it is inspirational and intended to bring about inspiration and motivation,” he said.
The reviewer of the book, Dr Aliyu Rabiu-Kurfi, said that the book was more of a monument.
“As the state recently marked its 38th anniversary, this compendium stands as a testament to the collective striving of its people and their enduring capacity to inspire, lead, and be remembered.
“The 600-page book is both a mirror and a map; it reflects Katsina’s immense contributions while guiding future generations on the path to significance,” he said.
Late Musa Yar’Adua had served as the president of Nigeria from 2007 until his death in May 2010.
As a democratic president, Buhari ruled from 2015 to 2023, and in a military capacity from 1983 to 1985. He died in July 2025.
