NTA appointments: Presidency approves new leadership roles

President Bola Tinubu has confirmed leadership changes for the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA).
The announcement was made in a statement shared on the X handle of the Presidency on Wednesday.
With the new development, Rotimi Pedro becomes the new Director-General of the NTA.
Pedro, a native of Lagos State, brings over two decades of experience in broadcasting, media consultancy, and sports rights management. He has previously held key leadership roles, including at Bloomberg Television Africa.
Alongside Pedro’s appointment, President Tinubu also named other top officials to strategic positions within the NTA. Karimah Bello, from Katsina State and representing the North-West, has been appointed Executive Director of Marketing.
Stella Din from Plateau State was appointed Executive Director of News, while Sophia Mohammed from Adamawa State will serve as Managing Director of NTA Enterprises Limited.
According to the statement, all appointments take immediate effect.
The Presidency noted that these decisions reflect President Tinubu’s commitment to revitalizing national broadcasting as a tool for promoting unity, social cohesion, and Nigeria’s cultural diplomacy.
