Sanwo-Olu shows care for children welfare, gifts Christmas babies at Lagos hospital

Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, ably represented by the Director of Pharmaceutical Services at the Health Service Commission, Bakare Modupe, has rejoiced with mothers of Christmas babies at General Hospital, Ijede, Ikorodu, Lagos.

According to a post obtained from the Lagos State X account on Friday, the delegation presented gifts to the newborns as well as to in-patients, reinforcing the state government’s commitment to maternal and child welfare.

“This gesture underscores the Lagos State Government’s commitment to maternal and child welfare in the state,” she said.

Modupe lauded the facility for its neatness, orderliness, and well-structured wards, describing the environment as a reflection of strong leadership and a dedicated workforce.

She encouraged staff to embrace the spirit of giving during the festive season, emphasising that Christmas is about spreading joy and bringing smiles to people’s faces.

The hospital recorded its first Christmas day baby boy, Okiki Omobolanle, delivered through Cesarean Section at 12:45 a.m., weighing 2.8kg.

The second baby, Akingbile Damilola, also a male, was delivered through Cesarean Section at 2:30 am, weighing 4kg. The third, Sanni Nusirat, a male, was delivered by Spontaneous Vaginal Delivery (SVD) at 3:00 am, weighing 3kg.

This response highlights the Lagos State Government’s dedication to improving healthcare services, supporting mothers and children, and celebrating life during the festive season.
