Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Skyewise Group, Dr. Elvis Abuyere has expressed strong confidence in the business environment of Edo State, urging investors to take advantage of the vast untapped opportunities in the region.

Speaking during a press conference with journalists in Benin City, Abuyere said the state holds immense economic potential capable of rivaling more established commercial centres.

According to him, Skyewise Group, a multi-billion naira conglomerate with interests in automobile, real estate, finance, logistics and youth empowerment, is approaching its 11th year anniversary with renewed commitment to expanding its footprint in Edo State.

“By June, Skyewise Group will be exactly 11 years, and it is a joy and privilege to complete this regional office in Benin,” he said.

Abuyere described Benin City as a vibrant and fast growing economy driven by a youthful population, stressing that the decision to invest heavily in the state was deliberate.

“Benin City is a growing economy with enormous potential of young people and remains one of the most interesting states for us as part of our long-term vision,” he stated, adding that it was important to channel investments back home rather than focusing solely on Lagos and Abuja.

He noted that the company’s newly completed five-storey facility on Airport Road is among the tallest in the area and features a state-of-the-art automobile showroom.

“This is the first of its kind in Edo State where you can walk in and purchase a brand new car. We introduced advanced technology that allows cars to be lifted from the ground floor to upper levels for display,” Abuyere explained.

On the financial services arm of the business, Abuyere said Skyewise is bridging liquidity gaps by providing accessible loans to individuals and businesses.

“The most important reason for holding money is transactional, and at Skyewise Group, we are supporting that need by giving out loans to grow businesses in Benin City and its environment,” he noted.

He further emphasised the group’s commitment to youth empowerment through the Skyewise Foundation, which he said has transformed lives across the state.

“We believe the future of Africa lies in entrepreneurship, and that future is in the hands of young Nigerians. So far, we have empowered over 1,000 youths and continue to provide grants annually to help them start their own businesses,” he said.

Highlighting the impact of the initiative, Abuyere said beyond financial support, the programme has driven a significant shift in mindset among beneficiaries.

“What we find more interesting is the change in orientation. When people see that success can be achieved legitimately, it inspires others to follow the same path,” he added, noting that the foundation’s annual “Meet the CEO” event brings together successful entrepreneurs to mentor young people.

Abuyere also commended the efforts of Governor Monday Okpebholo in improving security and infrastructure, which he said has enhanced investor confidence.

“I encourage investors to come to Edo State because the opportunities are enormous and largely untapped. The money is here, and we are already seeing results. Recently, a customer purchased over N900 million worth of products from us, which shows the viability of this market,” he said.
