Tinubu Intervenes With New Appointments; Dogara As Chairman NCGC, Others
President Bola Tinubu has appointed former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, as Chairman of the Board of the National Credit Guarantee Company Limited (NCGC).
In the same intervention, Tinubu also announced Mr. Bonaventure Okhaimo as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the organisation.
Other appointments to key leadership positions within the NCGC include:
* Mrs. Tinoula Aigwedo as Executive Director of Strategy and Operations
* Dr. Ezekiel Oseni as Executive Director, Risk Management
* Ms. Yeside Kazeem, a seasoned actuarial professional, as Independent Non-Executive Director
According to Naija News, President Tinubu has provided ₦100 billion in seed funding to support the establishment and operations of the NCGC.
The company is designed to reduce the risks associated with lending and expand financial access for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), small-scale businesses, manufacturers, consumers, and larger corporations across the country.
Meanwhile, Dogara recently made headlines for urging Nigerians to give President Tinubu a second chance.
Speaking at a public lecture held in honour of Archbishop John Praise’s 65th birthday, the former Speaker applauded Tinubu’s tough economic reforms—particularly the fuel subsidy removal—noting that, although painful, such decisions are made in the nation’s best interest.
