… victory was said to be the result of hard work of its leaders ~ APC
The All Progressives Congress has congratulated the winners of Saturday’s bye-elections held to fill vacant seats in the Rivers State House of Assembly.
Recall that the Independent National Electoral Commission declared the APC candidate for Khana Constituency II, Burabari Lolo, and the party’s candidate for Ahoada Constituency II, Napoleon Ukalikpe, as winners of the polls.
The ruling party in the state attributed the victory of the two candidates to the hard work of its leaders, members, supporters and other critical stakeholders.
The State Publicity Secretary of the APC, Chibike Ikenga, made this known in a statement issued in Port Harcourt on Sunday and made available to journalists.
Ikenga enjoined Lolo and Ukalikpe to cooperate with other members of the State House of Assembly to deepen democratic participation and pursue good governance for the development of the oil-rich state.
The statement partly read, “The Chairman and executive members of the All Progressives Congress in Rivers State wish to congratulate our members-elect who were declared winners of the just concluded bye-elections in Khana Constituency II and Ahoada Constituency II.
“We further wish to thank our teeming members for their support throughout the campaign leading up to the elections and victory.
“This victory is a clear testament to the hard work of our leaders, members, supporters and candidates.
“We enjoin you to strive even harder in subsequent elections in delivering our candidates, particularly President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and others in the 2027 elections.”
APC stated that members-elect are expected to work cooperatively with other members of the Rivers State House of Assembly to deepen democratic participation and the pursuit of good governance for the development of the state, through entrenched democratic ideals of quality representation, transparency and accountability.
