As part of measures to mitigate the recent fuel price hike and the economic hardship being experienced in the country, the leadership of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Youth Province 1, in Lagos, has announced the provision of a free three-month transportation programme tagged “Free Bus To Work Powered By RCCG Youth Province 1”, for Lagos and Ogun State residents.

This was contained in a post on the Province’s X.com account, on Saturday.

According to the post, there will be buses to transport commuters from different pick-up locations from October 14 to December 6, 2024.

It noted that the free transportation programme is strictly from Mondays to Fridays, only.

The post read, “Free Bus to Work powered by Youth Province 1. Pick-up points: Car Park C/Mowe Bus Stop to Law School, Victoria Island, 5:45 am, 6 am. Car Park C/Mowe Bus Stop to Berger/7Up Bus Stop, 6 am, 7 am, 8 am.

“RCCG Joseph Palace to CMS, 6 am. From Mowe to Sagamu Interchange, 7:30 am. From Agege to Ikeja, 7 am, from Ikorodu to Maryland, 6 am.” Drop off points: Return home from drop off locations by 5:30 pm.”

The post noted that there will be a free Daily Open Heavens Devotional on board each bus.

PUNCH Online reports that on September 23, 2024, the RCCG, Youth Province 1, unveiled a free bus service to assist commuters in some major areas around Lagos and Ogun States.

A statement from the province stated that the free bus service, which began the same day, was launched in response to Nigeria’s rising inflation, adding that the initiative was designed to ease transportation costs while also offering spiritual care and guidance.
