Governor Dauda Lawal has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to tackling insecurity in Zamfara State following a high-level meeting with the Chief of Defence Staff, Olufemi Oluyede.

The Defence Chief paid an official visit to the Government House in Gusau, where he praised the Zamfara State Government for its steady support to military personnel operating in the region. He highlighted the importance of the state’s collaborative approach in addressing ongoing security challenges.
Speaking during the meeting, Governor Lawal stressed that security remains the top priority of his administration. He noted that without a safe and stable environment, development efforts would have limited impact on the lives of citizens.
The governor also underscored the need for sustained cooperation between the state government and the military, emphasizing that strong synergy between civil authorities and security agencies is essential to restoring lasting peace in affected communities.
He assured that his government will continue to provide the necessary support to the Armed Forces and other security agencies to strengthen their operations and ensure the protection of lives and property across the state.
