The Super Eagles of Nigeria have subjected themselves to full training session in Bissau on Monday in preparations for Tuesday’s 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Guinea-Bissau.
The Group L encounter is scheduled for the Estádio 24 de Setembro in Bissau, with kick-off set for 4pm local time (5pm Nigerian time).
The Super Eagles arrived in Guinea-Bissau on Sunday evening aboard a special chartered flight from Uyo, following their opening Group L fixture.
The team settled at the Ceiba Hotel before having a light workout after arrival, while Monday’s full training session provided coach Eric Chelle with an opportunity to fine-tune his plans for the crucial encounter.
Chelle is expected to make tactical adjustments as Nigeria seek another positive result in their bid to maintain their push for the top spot in Group L.
Promising forward Ilenikhena and Akor were reported to have trained separately during the preliminary sessions, although the circumstances surrounding their individual programmes were not disclosed.
Tuesday’s clash is expected to provide another test for Chelle’s side, with the Super Eagles looking to secure maximum points against the Djurtus and strengthen their position in the AFCON qualifying race.
The fixture comes as both sides continue their campaign in a group that also includes Madagascar and Guinea-Bissau, with Nigeria determined to avoid dropping points on the road.
