Mexico have moved to the Round of 32 at the 2026 World Cup, following a narrow 1-0 win over South Korea on Friday.

The co-hosts took three points from their second Group A fixture, thanks to a Seung-Gyu Kim goalkeeping error.

Kim fumbled a Raul Jimenez header into Luis Romo’s path and he lifted the ball over him.

It was a tale of two goalkeepers, as Mexico’s Raul Rangel produced a stunning double save to deny substitute Gue-Sung Cho.

Mexico are the only country to have maximum points from two matches and are poised to finish as group winners.

This would ensure Javier Aguirre’s men will play their round of 32 match in Mexico City.
