Barcelona’s Spanish forward Lamine Yamal
This award makes Yamal the second consecutive Barcelona player to be named LaLiga Player of the Season after Raphinha won the prize last year.
Barcelona forward Lamine Yamal has been named LaLiga Player of the Season for the 2025/26 campaign following his key role in the club’s title-winning season.
The club announced the award on Friday, describing it as “another award for the talent of Lamine Yamal.”
The 18-year-old enjoyed a standout campaign under coach Hansi Flick, scoring 16 league goals and providing 11 assists as Barcelona secured the Spanish top-flight title.
“The La Masia forward’s wizardry is evident. Every match he brought dribbling, goals and assists,” the club said in a statement on its website.
LaLiga announced the award after a season in which Yamal emerged as one of the competition’s most influential players, helping Barcelona retain domestic supremacy.
The Spain international recorded his highest goal-scoring league season to date and finished as the joint winner of the Zarra Trophy alongside teammate Ferran Torres.
Yamal’s performances also helped Barcelona sweep major individual honours, with Flick winning the Coach of the Season award and goalkeeper Joan Garcia claiming the Save of the Season prize.
The award makes Yamal the second consecutive Barcelona player to be named LaLiga Player of the Season after Raphinha won the prize last year.
Widely regarded as one of football’s brightest young talents, Yamal was a constant attacking threat throughout the campaign, combining goals, assists and dribbling ability to play a central role in Barcelona’s success.
