Super Falcons midfielder Christy Ucheibe

Super Falcons midfielder Christy Ucheibe has completed her move to Saudi Women’s Premier League side Al Hilal on a two-year contract.

The Riyadh-based club announced the signing of the 25-year-old Nigerian international as they continue to strengthen their squad ahead of the new campaign.

Ucheibe will reunite with fellow Super Falcons star Asisat Oshoala, who also plays for Al Hilal, adding further Nigerian representation to the Saudi club.

The move brings an end to Ucheibe’s successful six-year spell with Portuguese champions Benfica, where she established herself as an important member of the team and won several domestic honours.

Benfica confirmed her departure in June, paving the way for the midfielder to begin a new chapter in her career.

Ucheibe was also a key member of the Nigeria side that won the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, further enhancing her reputation as one of the country’s established international players.

The former Nasarawa Amazons player now begins her first spell in Saudi Arabian football, with her move to Al Hilal representing a new challenge after six seasons in Portugal.

Her arrival is expected to add experience and quality to an Al Hilal side preparing for another competitive campaign in the Saudi Women’s Premier League.
