The Nairobi Lifestyle Tour, a new intra-African tourism initiative, has officially been launched by stakeholders with plans to hold the experience later this month. The program is designed to deepen cultural exchange and strengthen tourism and business connections between West and East Africa, particularly between Nigeria and Kenya.
Organizers say the initiative is focused on promoting “Africa-to-Africa” travel by encouraging more Africans to explore destinations within the continent rather than relying heavily on outbound tourism outside Africa. The tour will showcase the vibrant lifestyle, entertainment scene, hospitality industry, and cultural heritage of Nairobi, while also building stronger tourism ties with Nigeria.
The project is expected to include curated travel experiences such as city tours, cultural exhibitions, culinary showcases, nightlife experiences, and networking sessions involving tourism operators, creatives, and investors from both regions.
Stakeholders involved in the initiative highlight that the tour is not only cultural but also economic in purpose. It is expected to create new opportunities for collaboration between travel agencies, hospitality businesses, and creative industry players across both countries. By promoting regional travel, the initiative aims to boost revenue for local tourism sectors while encouraging investment in Africa’s growing lifestyle economy.
The organizers also emphasize that the Nairobi Lifestyle Tour is part of a broader movement to strengthen African identity and unity through travel and shared experiences. By connecting cities like Nairobi and Lagos through lifestyle tourism, the initiative seeks to build long-term partnerships that go beyond tourism into culture, trade, and innovation.
With preparations underway, stakeholders express optimism that the upcoming edition will attract influencers, travel enthusiasts, and industry leaders from across the continent. If successful, the model could be replicated in other African cities, further expanding Africa’s internal tourism network and boosting cross-border cultural appreciation.
